On Sunday evenings it seems like the whole town shows up at the plaza, AKA the basketball court or zocoló. This evening a secondary school was celebrating its 25th anniversary with a parade and show. Be sure and click the audio button above to hear them play.

We've vacationed at beach resorts a half dozen times or more. We wanted to stay in a place that was truly Mexican, had nice grounds, wasn't jam-packed with people, and didn't cost a fortune. We chose Puerta del Mar in Ixtapa. It's about three blocks from the public access to the beach and costs around $100 a day. It has 45 units, it's peaceful, the on-site restaurant is good, and the staff is small enough that you get to know them and they you. We are going back next year with several other couples.

We had a one bedroom two bath unit. It was nice.
The kitchen was adequite, but with all the great restaurants we never used it.
A Velentine gift from our maid.
