Seafood plays a major part in the local economy. Many people who live here fish for a living. Lots of visitors enjoy sport fishing. The sport fishermen usually don’t want to take their catch home and agree to give it to the captain who sells it to the restaurants. The local fishermen bring their boats right up on the beach and sell their catch there. House wives and restaurateurs alike buy from this beach market. The fish you will eat tonight was caught today. Now, that’s fresh fish.
When a fishing boat arrives everyone helps to bring it ashore.
This is the fish market. You can see some of the boats on the beach. Buy your dinner here and cook it up in your timeshare. OK, OK, you'd rather eat out.
Two logs are placed under the boat so it rolls easily up the beach.
A little inspecting, a little bargaining, take that puppy home.
This could be your catch.
These fillets are restaurant bound.
Guess who caught fish.

Why sitting at the restaurant to the right is so entertaining.

We boarded Dancer, a large power catamaran, for the Valentine's Day sunset cruise. There was pleanty of food, drink, loud non-stop music, and partying. If you are tired of low-tech beer-in-a-plastic-glass, the crew will provide, actually encourage you to try, the hi-tech funnel-in-the-mouth technique. The cruise takes you from Playa La Ropa north to Ixtapa. It could have been glorious way to segue from the afternoon into evening. Next time we will cruise on Picante, a large sailing cat. It will have the food and drink, and hopefully leave the funnel and the Rolling Stones ashore.
